second Floating jetty at Old Goa.

- The Government of India has approved the construction of two
concrete floating jetties on the River Mondovi (NW-68) to connect Old Goa and

- This is the second floating jetty to be built.

Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme(ECLGS) expanded - 01 Jun 21
Highlights:
- The ECLGS (Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme) has been
expanded.
- Because of the disruptions caused by the second wave of the
pandemic, the government has extended the ECLGS.
- ECLGS 4.0 : 100% guarantee cover for loans up to Rs.2 crore
to hospitals/nursing homes/clinics/medical colleges for the establishment of
on-site oxygen generation plants, with interest rates capped at 7.5 percent.
- The government also announced an extension of the scheme's
tenor for MSMEs and other entities that are eligible for restructuring under
RBI guidelines as of May 5, 2021, and had borrowed credit under ECLGS 1.0.
- Furthermore, borrowers covered by ECLGS 1.0 have been
offered additional ECLGS assistance of up to 10% of the outstanding credit as
of February 29, 2020.
- The current loan outstanding ceiling of Rs. 500 crore for
eligibility under ECLGS 3.0 will be removed, subject to a maximum additional
ECLGS assistance to each borrower of 40% or Rs.200 crore, whichever is less.
- The Ministry also expanded the scope of ECLGS 3.0 to include
the Civil Aviation sector.
- The validity of ECLGS was extended to September 30, 2021, or
until guarantees in the amount of Rs.3 lakh crore were issued. Disbursement
under the scheme is permitted until December 31, 2021.

- According to ‘Annual Bank Statistics of 2020’ launched
through Swiss National Bank (SNB), the Central Bank of Switzerland.
- India with Swiss Francs (CHF) 2.55 billion (INR 20,706 Crore)
has been positioned at 51st place in the list of overseas clients’ cash in
Swiss Banks during 2020.
- The United Kingdom (UK) topped the listing with CHF 377

National Population Register (NPR): Latest Report - 27 Jun 21

- According to a Union Home Ministry manual, migrants from six
non-Muslim minority communities in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh can
also produce National Population Register (NPR) enrolment slips as proof of the
duration of their stay in India when applying for long-term visas (LTVs).
- The NPR number is one of more than ten documents that could
be provided to apply for an LTV, which is a prerequisite to acquiring Indian
citizenship either by naturalisation or registration under Sections 5 and 6 of
the Citizenship Act, 1955, for the six non-Muslim communities.
- These communities are: Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians,
Jains, and Buddhists.
- For the first time, a special provision for LTVs for Hindus
and Sikhs from Pakistan and Afghanistan was made in 2011.
- It was also claimed that the awareness campaign has nothing
to do with the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which is intended to help
undocumented migrants from the six groups who entered India before the 2014
cut-off date.

- Investment promotion agency would be dedicated for

“time of project formulation & capacity building” to “financing, starting
of production, & market linkages”.
- It would facilitate MSMEs to avail different assistance from
government as per prevailing provisions.
Who will manage these agencies?- These agencies would be managed by three professionals under
the supervision of respective district collectors.

- These agencies would be set up in all the districts of
Odisha in a phased manner with the help of feedback and learning of functioning
and outcome.
- This project will start in August, 2021. For the first phase of
project districts of Ganjam, Sundargarh & Jagatsinghpur were selected.

second phase, districts of Angul, Jajapur, Balasore, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda,

districts by March 2022.
