- It was under his leadership that the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections were conducted.
- The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) happened to be founded in 1995.
- It is an intergovernmental body located in Stockholm, Sweden.
- India is one of the founding members of the institute.
- The vital mission of International IDEA is to promote sustainable democracy worldwide.
- It has 34 member countries, including new, old, small and large governments from all continents.
