Kerala Retains Top Rank in 3rd SDG of Niti Aayog


  • Kerala has retained the pinnacle rank in Niti Aayog’s 3rd version of SDG India Index 2020-21, whilst Bihar has been adjudged as the worst performer.
SDGs Index:
  • The Index for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) evaluates the growth of states and union territories on social, financial and environmental parameters. 
  • Kerala retained its rank as the pinnacle nation with a 75. 
  • The 1/3 rendition of India’s SDG Index was once launched via Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar on third June.
  • The top-performing states and UTs as per the file are:
  • Kerala with a rating of- 75
  • Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with a score of -74
  • Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka and Uttarakhand scored- 72
  • Sikkim scored- 71
  • Maharashtra, with a Goal score of- 70
  • The worst-performing states and UTs include:
  • Chhattisgarh, Nagaland and Odisha with a rating of- 61
  • Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh at a score of- 60
  • Assam scored- 57
  • Jharkhand scored- 56
  • Bihar at-52
