India’s 2nd VNR Report presented at United Nations HLPF by NITI Aayog


  • The second Voluntary National Review (VNR) of India was presented on the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) of the United Nations by NITI Aayog.

  • The VNR report provides a comprehensive detailed account of the schemes and initiatives taken by India for the successful implementation and adoption of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals Agenda of the United Nations.
  • The 2nd VNR report of India has also highlighted the features and responses of India under the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Campaign that will help in accelerating progress on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The title of India’s 2nd Voluntary National Review: Decade of Action: Taking SDGs from Global to Local.
  • For reviewing the progress on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that have been set under the United Nations to be achieved for countries across the globe by the year 2030, the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) was set up as a platform globally.
  • Under the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, the HLPF meets for eight days every year in the month of July, countries from across the globe present their progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
  • India’s First VNR was presented in 2017 by NITI Aayog.
